Rinku, an MP from Jalandhar in Punjab, and Angural, an elected member of the state assembly from West Jalandhar, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and National General Secretary Vinod Tawde. Joi
The MP said he was joining the Bharatiya Janata Party for the development of Punjab, especially Jalandhar, and accused the AAP government in the state of not supporting him in development projects. He said he was impressed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and praised the Union government’s development efforts.
The lawmaker had resigned from the Congress last year to join AAP to fight the by-election to the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. The party has fielded a large number of influential leaders from various parties in Punjab to become a strong force in 13 constituencies in Punjab.
Ravneet Singh Bittu, a three-time member of Parliament from Punjab, Said that the people had decided to vote Prime Minister Modi back to power. Bittu is the grandson of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, a hero of Punjab’s anti-terrorism campaign who was assassinated in a terrorist attack while in office.
