Feb-29, Article 370 movie had a strong opening at the weekend. The Yami Gautam and Priyamani starrer maintains consistent performance at the weekday box office, as it did. Sources said the film’s net collection on Wednesday was Rs 31 crore, on par with Monday and Tuesday’s collections, taking the total domestic collection to Rs 32.5 crore.
Article 370 had a promising debut, earning Rs 5.9 crore on the first day. Sales surged over the weekend, with revenues of Rs 7.4 crore and Rs 9.6 crore recorded on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. However, there was a decline on Monday, with revenue of Rs 3.25 crore dropping by over 66 percent.
Article 370 was co-produced by Yami Gautam’s husband, Aditya Dar, and deals with the Prime Minister’s decision to revoke the special status accorded to Jammu and Kashmir. The film has caused controversy, with some calling it propaganda.
