Fastag

JAN-31, FASTag KYC details must be updated by the January 31 deadline, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said. NHAI said that from January 31, 2024, banks will disable or blacklist all FASTAs with incomplete know-your-customer (KYC) updates, even if they have sufficient balances.

What is FASTag?
FASTag (electronic system) collects highway tolls and makes paying toll tax at toll plazas much easier. The tag is placed on your car’s windshield and linked to your bank account or prepaid card. When a vehicle equipped with a FASTag approaches a toll plaza, RFID technology will be used. The scanner scans the tag and deducts the fee.
