JAN-26, The day began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting the National War Memorial and paying solemn and heartfelt condolences to the fallen heroes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued the tradition of wearing bright and colorful turbans during his Republic Day celebrations. For this 75th Republic Day, he chose a multi-coloured safa ‘pagdi’ (turban) with bandhani print and paired it with a white ‘kurta pajama’ and a brown Nehru jacket.

Prime Minister Modi, along with other dignitaries, arrived at the Kartaviya Road saluting platform to witness a grand parade that epitomized the spirit of India’s diverse and vibrant traditions.

President Drupadi Murmu and Chief Guest French President Emmanuel Macron were accompanied by the famous presidential bodyguard ‘Rashtrapati ke Angrakshak’. Then, the Republic Day parade started after President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag at Kartavya Path.

An all-women band of Delhi Police participated in the Republic Day parade for the first time on Friday. The Delhi Police women’s band was led by bandmaster Sub-Inspector Luyangnuo Kense.

The Brass & Pipe Band of Delhi Police consists of 4 female inspectors and her 81 female constables. The band played ‘Delhi Police Song’.

The Delhi Police marching unit, which has won the Best Marching Unit award 15 times, also marched along Kartaviya Road. Then Indian Air Force show cased its might and followed by a tableau of several states.
