IND VS ENG TEST

Feb-24, Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav were solid till the last hour of play as India reached 219/7 at stumps on day 2 of the 4th Test cricket match against England. The visiting nation will look to thwart this partnership early in tomorrow’s session, as England still holds a comfortable 134-run lead. India suffered an early setback in the third and final session of the second day. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was the most promising of all the batsmen in the innings, fell after being bowled out for 73 by Shoaib Bashir. Sarfaraz did the same after a few overs, scoring only 14 off 53 balls. Tom Hartley dismissed the young batsman, followed by another wicket in the 56th over to dismiss Ravichandran Ashwin for one. Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav are currently carrying India’s hopes.

India lost Rohit Sharma early on, but Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill looked mostly fine on either side of Ranchi. The two put on 82 runs for the second wicket, with Gill putting up a run after lunch. Shoaib Bashir dismissed Gill for 38 runs to break the stand. Bashir then dismissed Ravindra Jadeja and quickly took the wicket of Jaiswal himself, completing his first Test with four wickets.

Earlier in the day, Joe Root and Olly Robinson dominated the first half hour. The eighth wicket stand between Root and Robinson amounted to 102 runs off 163 balls, with the latter scoring 58 off 96 runs. Jadeja finally got the breakthrough for India in the form of Robinson’s wicket and later took another wicket in the same over. James Anderson fell soon after, and Ravindra Jadeja finished the match with four wickets. Root was unbeaten with 122 wins out of 274, and England were bowled out with 353 wins.
