Jun-6, Indian star shuttler player Lakshya Sen produced a flawless performance to reach the quarterfinals of the men’s singles at the Indonesia Open Super 1000 tournament on Thursday with a win over Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto.
Sen barely batted an eyelid as he defeated Nishimoto 21-9, 21-15 in his pre-quarterfinal match.
In women’s doubles, Treetha Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand were eliminated.
The Indian duo lost to Japan’s Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara 21-19, 19-21, 19-21 in a round of 16. Tanisha Krust and Ashwini Ponnappa also withdrew from the tournament, ending India’s women’s doubles campaign.
Tanisha and Ashwini lost 21-13, 19-21, 21-13 to Hana Baek and Sohee Lee of South Korea.
Then India’s mixed doubles B Sumeeth Reddy and Sikki Reddy will take on China’s Siwei Zheng and Yaqiong Fan.
In the men’s singles, Priyanshu Rajawat will face Thailand’s Kunravut Vitidsarn, the current world champion and last year’s World Championship gold medallist.
