MUMBAI, JAN-14, Senior Congress MP and former Union Minister Milind Deora was on Sunday joined by Shinde-led Shiv Sena. I resigned. In a post on social media platform X, Deora said he was ending his family’s “55-year association” with the Congress party. Milind, son of veteran Congress leader Murli Deora, confirmed his resignation in a post on X. I have tendered my resignation as a regular member of @INCIndia, ending my family’s 55-year association with the party. “I would like to thank all my mentors, colleagues, and Karyakarta for their unwavering support over the years,” he wrote.
“I would like to thank all my leaders, colleagues, and Karyakartas for their unwavering support over the years,” Deora added.
Deora was the Union Minister from 2012 until 2014 in the then-Congress-led government. He is also a former chairman of the Mumbai Pradesh Congress Committee.
Mr. Deora’s resignation comes amid speculation in recent days that he might join Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena party.
