PM Modi launched the ‘Nari Shakti Dhoot’ app for women beneficiaries in Maharashtra!
The purpose of this application is to provide information about various government programmes for women and to make them aware of various government measures for the benefit of women. In addition, we will provide information on various projects centred on women and presentations related to women’s development. The state government said the app is part of its new initiative to inform economically disadvantaged women about various support programmes.
This application is the brainchild of Minister Aditi Tatkare, who a few months ago suggested the development of an application where women in the state can benefit from government schemes and access all relevant information on a single platform.
According to an official from the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Minister at one of the review meetings pointed out that women in the state are facing difficulties in accessing information about the schemes launched by the government for them. Due to low participation, many programmes have no students or beneficiaries who are unaware of the eligibility criteria, she said.
The app reportedly does more than just provide notifications and information to departments. It also provides information about programmes developed for women by other departments of the state government. Officials said this will make it even easier to fill out forms online.
The district’s public welfare department will provide details of women-centric programmes, and a special dashboard has been developed for both the mobile app and web portal, officials said.
