Prime Minister Modi presents the Holy Chadar to be installed at Ajmer Sharif !
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a delegation of the Muslim community on Thursday and handed over the ceremonial ‘chadar’ to be installed at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
The meeting was part of events commemorating the death anniversary of the revered Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti.
PM Modi shared his photo on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: During our interaction, I presented a holy chadar to be installed at the revered Ajmer Sharif Dargah during the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. ” I handed over the “Chadar”. A 10-member delegation also posed with the prime minister and his framed painting. The meeting was also attended by Union Minister for Minorities Affairs Smriti Irani and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Morcha President Jamal Siddiqui.

The 812th Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Annual Urs began on his January 8th. The Gori family of Bhilwara hoisted the flag on January 7.
On Monday, the Khadim of Ajmer shrine wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking his intervention to ensure the safety of those participating in the Urs festival at the shrine from January 13 to 21.
Hasan Chishti will begin from January 13, 2024, to January 21, 2024, and will be attended by people from all over the world irrespective of their caste. All faiths, colours and religions will visit this shrine to celebrate Urs. ”
In the coming days, Qalandars from Delhi will arrive in Ajmer to offer offerings at the dargah as per their long tradition. On January 14, a special train from the Attari border will take a delegation of Pakistan supporters to Ajmer.
