Feb-28, West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said on Wednesday that the main suspect in the Sandeshkhali assault for land grabbing and sexual harassment is absconding. claimed to be Trinamool Congress (TMC) strongman Shahjahan Sheikh has been in the “secure custody” of state police since Tuesday night, he said.
Suvendu said that TMC Man had successfully brokered a deal with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s police and was given enhanced five-star facilities while in custody.

TMC Leader, Kunal Ghosh claimed that Shajahan, who is on the run, would be arrested within a week. “He will be arrested within a week,” he told reporters.
Suvendhu Adikari’s assertions came after the Calcutta High Court rejected the state government’s argument that the judiciary tied the hands of the West Bengal police in the arrest of the man who has maintained a tense situation in Sandeshkhali village.
Large-scale unrest has continued in Sandeshkhali for more than two weeks, with protesters demanding justice against sexual harassment and land grabbing by Shahjahan.
The TMC leader went on the run after a mob allegedly associated with him attacked ED officials who raided his premises in connection with a food scam in January this year.
