May-1, The Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal on Wednesday dismissed Bengal general secretary Kunal Ghosh as “inconsistent with the party.”
Mamata Banerjee’s party took action hours after Ghosh shared the stage with Tapas Ray, the BJP candidate from north Kolkata, calling him a “true mass leader”. Ray joined the Bhartiya Janata Party after quitting the TMC in March.
“Tapas Ray is a true mass leader. His doors are always open to party members and people. I have known him for decades.” Unfortunately, despite all efforts to retain Mr. Tapasda, we have failed, so our path is now different,” Ghosh said. No one says anything bad about me. Thank you Kunal for your kind words. “
He also criticized a section of his TMC for its close ties with the BJP.
“They are behaving as if TMC is the fiefdom of a few leaders. In North Calcutta, we have Sudip Bandopadhyay. He is more of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader than a TMC MP. He is behaving like another Shajahan Sheikh. He is being soft on the Bharatiya Janata Party regarding the corruption cases it is investigating.”
