‘Took Time for Me to Come Out of it’: Opening Up for the First Time Since World Cup Final Loss- Rohit Sharma!

Under Rohit Sharma again, India returns to play South Africa in a two-match test series beginning on December 26 at the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion. The Indian skipper will be hoping to knock down the long-standing Proteas record of never being beaten at home by India in a red-ball match.

The Indian skipper had spoken to reporters before the Boxing Day Test, saying he couldn’t just dwell on what happened in Ahmedabad.

He also spoke about the reaction from outside: “After that last game, we really got a lot of encouragement from all around, and it was something that personally pushed me to start doing my job again right away.

However, the skipper also noted that there were several things that his side failed to do in that big final. He added, you have seen how we played the first 10 games and then the finals. Of course, you can see that we didn’t do too well in the final game and thus lost. But until then, I thought there were not many things we could describe that didn’t make this wrong.

Rohit also disclosed that it had taken him some time to pick himself up after the loss. They also said, But from a loss like that, it’s not easy. But there is so much going on in life. There’s so much cricket happening. You have to find that strength and resolve yourself to move on from there. It takes time. I needed a while to get out of that groove, too.
