Feb-6, The Uniform Civil Code Bill will be tabled in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly on Tuesday during the ongoing special session chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami after the Uttarakhand Cabinet approved the final draft of the UCC on Sunday. The Uniform Civil Code establishes the laws for all local governments in the state.

The framers of the Constitution were already discussing this when the Constitution was drafted…Now this issue has been taken up by the Law Commission of India. It is being considered and is in the process of consultation. States can fix or improve the issue, and the Goa government is already working on the UCC. The Uttarakhand government has agreed to this in the Cabinet and the Law Commission We will notify you as soon as we receive the report.” Customary laws found in various faiths and tribes apply.

Uniform Civil Code’s purpose is to uniformly regulate matters such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and maintenance uniformly.
